QueerNet: an LGBTQIA+ Network to promote housing inclusion

The project brings together organizations across Europe supporting LGBTQIA+ people experiencing homelessness and marginalization, with the goal of developing effective advocacy and prevention strategies.

QueerNet is part of “Connecting Spheres: Strengthening CSOs and Networks to Protect GBV Survivors in all their Diversity”, led by Oxfam Italia and Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, co-funded by the European Union, and carried out by a broad partnership of European organizations: Associazione Quore (lead partner), Ahora donde (Barcelona, ES) (partner), Cadal (Bruxelles, BE), Sateenkaari-ikkuna ry (Helsinki, FI) (associated partners).

Un network per il diritto all’abitare

QueerNet partner organizations have been committed for years to tackling housing deprivation and supporting LGBTQIA+ survivors not only by providing concrete solutions, but also by researching the phenomenon and shaping preventive policies.
To this end, QueerNet has designed a multi-level program aimed at improving the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people.

The targets

The project aims to reach:

Implementation of the PRIDE research, first published by Quore in 2024 (link), through a new qualitative-quantitative study in four European countries (Italy, Belgium, Spain, and Finland);
Awareness-raising, training, and capacity building activities for organizations and activists;
Empowerment initiatives for beneficiaries of housing projects across Europe;
Creation of a European network dedicated to addressing housing insecurity among LGBTQIA+ communities.
