WHAT IS HOMOPHOBIA?
Homo-transphobia consists of the fear and irrational aversion towards homosexuality and transexuality and consequently of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) people, based on prejudice.
This term therefore generally indicates a set of adverse feelings, thoughts and behaviours that all too often can lead to verbal or physical actions, sometimes also to violence.
Italy still lacks a law against homo-transphobia that foresees aggravated hatred in the case of aggression motivated by this reason.
The campaign
The episodes of homophobic violence and bullying, which are increasingly frequent in our country and in our towns, require greater attention and urgent awareness actions regarding this issue.
With this campaign, we have distributed the “Homophobia No Thanks” window stickers with the Friendly Piemonte logo in more than 1000 shops, tourist accommodation facilities and various merchants.
Understandable even to foreign tourists, the slogan is a distinctive sign for the user who favours the choice of “friendly” places and activities, that is, those places that support cultural diversity, hospitality and know the value of differences.
