It’s wedding time

Quore’s campaign to promote equal marriage developed in particular in 2012, in a scenario of total void regarding regulations with respect to same-sex unions.

The national initiative reaches the whole of Italy with a postcard containing a message for the President of the Republic. Any interested party was able to sign it and, through our association, have it delivered to the recipient in order to encourage a commitment to equalize marriage to all types of union between citizens, regardless of their gender.

MYTHS ABOUT EQUAL WEDDING

How many times have we heard the standard reasons why two men or two women shouldn’t get married? Here is a series of campaign postcards that illustrate and demolish the most common myths about same-sex marriages.

Throughout the campaign we asked the people we met about same-sex love, what they thought of equal marriage and, finally, we asked them for a message of support for the campaign.

Family Pride 2012

During Pride 2012 in Torino, around thirty symbolic weddings were celebrated by LGBTQI couples who joined the “I would like to but I can’t, It’s Wedding Time” campaign to legalize gay marriage in Italy.

The film

Vorrei ma non posso

It is the choral story of an awareness campaign regarding equal marriage: initiated in Torino thanks to Quore and Queever, the campaign has obtained the participation and committed involvement of many people and associations throughout the country.

The documentary makes the campaign’s demands its own and continues its story through the voice of the protagonists, in particular those of two couples who were joined in the symbolic wedding celebrated in Torino on Pride 2012 day.

The emotions of the day, the political analysis, the comments and stories of many who are fighting in Italy for the conquest of civil rights give shape and rhythm to the documentary.
